  • Designed and developed a number of websites ranging from a website for a non-profit organization, an online magazine, to an official website for a sports event.

Research Experience

2017 Vision-Based Rail Fastener Inspection
  • Formulated a computer vision algorithm using machine learning (Support Vector Machines) to assess rail fasteners/clips from photos taken with cameras installed under rail inspection trains.
  • Senior Project for B.Eng. in Computer Engineering under the supervision of Asst.Prof. Thanarat H. Chalidabhongse
  • Publication: T. Prasongpongchai, S. Leelhapantu, and T. H. Chalidabhongse, “A Vision-Based method for the detection of missing rail fasteners,” submitted to the 2017 IEEE International Conference on Signal and Image Processing Applications (IEEE ICSIPA 2017), Kuching, Malaysia, Sep. 2017. 2017 HitAlert: Collision Alert System for the Visually Impaired
  • Led the team, developed a real-time video analysis algorithm, and built a mobile application to help the visually impaired walk more safely and confidently by alerting them of collision risks.
  • The project was under the supervision of Asst.Prof. Proadpran Punyabukkana and Asst.Prof. Thanarat H. Chalidabhongse
  • Was awarded the 2nd prize of the assistive technology category in the 19th National Software Contest (This can be regarded as the highest prize in the category as the 1st prize was not awarded).
  • Was selected as one of the Thailand representative teams in Technology Category to compete in the Global Student Innovation Challenge for Assistive Technology (gSIC-AT) held in Kobe, Japan.
2015 A Study in Daily Rain Prediction for Thailand Using Data Mining Techniques
  • Developed a machine learning model with the team to predict daily rain volume in the future
  • Under the supervision of Asst.Prof. Peerapon Vateekul
  • The model was trained from 30 years of past rain data, acquired from the Meteorological Department of Thailand, and NCEP Climate Forecast System Model version 2 (CFSv2) dataset from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the United States.
  • This is a cooperative project between department of computer engineering, Chulalongkorn University and Hydro and Agro Informatics Institute of Thailand (HAII).

Home Buyers' 360° VR Tour

Exhibited at Home Buyers Expo 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand, this virtual reality application allows users to virtually visit houses and condominium rooms available for sale. This project was developed with Oculus and Leap motion controller.

HitAlert: A Collision Alert System for the Visually Impaired

A mobile application for the visually impaired to help them walk more safely and confidently by alerting them of collision risks. The app does the task by analyzing video from smartphone’s camera in real-time.This project also included a Bluetooth-powered belt which give app users richer and easier-to-understand haptic feedback for signaling collision threats.

SignFight: an American Sign Language (ASL) Spelling Game

led the team, designed and developed an Interactive game for the hearing-impaired children using Leap motion controller, a hand motion sensor. The game is a spelling game in which players spell the given words in ASL to fight monsters.

Digital Ventures' "Digital Museum" by bit.studio

An interactive installation showing financial technologies through the ages. Users can navigate the app with body gestures. This project was developed during my internship at Bit Studio with Kinect 2 and Cinder OpenGL framework.

WebMote

An experiment to create a customizable motion controller from existing smartphones using web technology. Users can transform their phones into a motion controller by easily scanning the QR code displayed on the screen. No app installation is required.

(‘tord-tape’ means transcribing in Thai)

Interactive Opening Sequence for the Opening Ceremony, Chula Expo 2017

responsible for creating the interactive opening graphic sequence for the opening ceremony of Chula Expo 2017, an academic exhibition held in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Chulalongkorn University. The graphic sequence was presented to and used by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, the guest of honor of the ceremony.
